Jadon's two month MD visit

At 23.5 inches long & 10lbs 12oz, Jadon is tall and skinny like his dad (so far)! Lungs and heart are sounding within normal limits and the doctor says I could feed him more! (Although he is getting enough because he is stooling!) What a joy! He received his first round of vaccines today, and a surprise was waiting for him when he got home. Grandma, you have perfect timing! Thank you for the little dragon that keeps the big one company. The socks that you have knitted for Jadon now fit him, if not a tad small, and he is still wearing Carter's new borns. He has not graduated into the 0 - 3 months size yet.

I am including pictures of our hunt for his elusive smile. And as you can see, a lot of them are close, but not the big cheek to cheek grin I'm hoping to catch.

Will's 2007 BSF Wraps Up for the Summer

During the last eight months I (Will) spent most of my Monday nights with a group of guys studying the letter the Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Rome. I have been encouraged, humbled and blessed during the time as we have learned and experienced Gods loving, powerful and redemptive work.

Here is a picture of the Guys (established on the Word of God).

Jadon's First Eddie Bauer Visit

Not to be outdone by Will taking Jadon to REI, we had to visit Eddie Bauer the next day. Unfortunately, I am not as 'on the ball' as Will is, and did not bring the camera to capture the event. The great thing is that Jadon was wide awake and looking around at everything with those big blue eyes. He did, however, fall asleep halfway through the adventure.

I am realizing that Jadon and any new child has a world of 'firsts' and I pray that Will and I will continue to delight in each and every event. And I pray that everyone who reads this blog will also take joy in Jadon's world of 'firsts', and encourage him to explore this world that God has given us to enjoy.

Day Care update: Will and I have visited two centers and like one of the two we visited. This coming friday, we will visit two more centers and then make a decision from there. We are very fortunate to have choices convenient to where we live.

Jadon's 1st REI Visit

Some people enjoy coffee, we enjoy the outdoors (Check Tony and Wendy Gapastione blog from Starbucks). Deanna and I had some errands to attend to today so we took Jadon to REI for the first time. However, he slept straight through the whole experience. Coming late summer we (especially dad) is hoping to purchase a bike trailer that can double as a running stroller. The "Red" Chariot Cougar 2 is one of the options that has caught dad's eye. Child carriers like these are a bit pricey so we will likely pick up a used Burley D'lite off Craigslist instead, and save a couple hundred $$. Before we left REI Deanna and I joked about getting Jadon His own REI membership account. We are going to wait until he can sign his own name on the dotted line.

P.S. - After more than 25 quick pictures we are still hunting Jadon's elusive smile.

The Many Faces of Jadon

Ok, We are completly caught up in this little guy. Hopefully all parents enjoy their children like we do. Hopefully, most parents sleep as much or more than we do. Any way enjoy some of Jadon's faces. Eventually we will catch a picture of a smile!

Jadon's Smiling !!!!

His first real smile was on Mother's day and so far it has eluded even the most gifted photographer. He has been trying to smile all week, and I was hoping he would break one out for Will's birthday, but he never really got the big cheek-to-cheek grin until yesterday.

He is six weeks old. And in the short time he has been with us, he has mastered his smile, tracks with his eyes, interacts with Will and I, and he can support his weight with his legs as long as he is leaning against someone. He is a mover and a shaker, and this is accompanied by animated facial expressions. It is so much fun to watch him move, sleep, eat, etc..... I love to sit and interact with him all day!

Please pray for discernment and guidance for Will and I as we start considering daycare centers for Jadon. We currently have 4 on our list that we will be visiting in the next couple of weeks. Our prayer is that Jadon is safe, nurtured and loved in this new environment.

Will's 34!

Child of God, Servant, Husband, Father, Friend, Faithful, Teacher, Coach, Full of Integrity.

For a little more than two years, he has stood by me, loved me, and grown with me. Always corrected me with love, and listen intentionally. No other person has fully accepted me and embraced me.

Happy 34th Birthday Will!

Jadon's 5 weeks old!

Weighing in at 8lbs 7oz, he is on a roll! It has been fun, challenging, and heartbreaking, all at the same time! He has brought everyone who has met him a lot of joy. Will and I look forward to the many days that God gives us with Jadon.

Thank you for your prayers, support, love and gifts. We have been truly blessed and honored.
