Narumi Arrived

Narumi arrived safe and sound early this morning. We met at the airport. She came home, ate some and played with Jadon for awhile (I guess he was showing off) and is now napping. More to come.....

A smile comes to my eyes when I hear Jadon say "Obey Jesus"
He knows that Jonah was in the whale (God's time-out) because Jonah did not obey.
He knows that Jesus went to the cross because He was obeying God.
He knows that Zacchaeus came out of the tree to obey Jesus.

A simple phrase
Lots of wisdom
Filled with truth

I so desire to obey Jesus in the everyday
I am incapable of obeying Jesus in every instance
In my weakness He is strong
Father, I pray for Your grace, power and wisdom,
Insight to pass onto the talents You have so graciously blessed me with,
Your sovereignty
Lord, use me to teach Jadon to obey because it brings You delight!

As Time goes by

Jadon grows

At least two inches since Thanksgiving!
Pants that we have folded, now are at the perfect length.
Thankful for the foresight to buy the next size up.
He delights in entertaining others, his excitement increases with enthusiastic replies.
We are caught up in his excitement with frequent laughter.
He loves exploring new things.

Ian smiles

Filled with joy!
Lights up the room with his smiles and coos.
We can't help but delight and enjoy the view.
Continues to grow and tracks Jadon as he moves.
Making gross movements in reach toys.

Deanna's working

I am back to work at a third of the time I was before!
Working on two lectures I was asked to give.
Looking forward to a visit from Narumi.
Grateful for the help of a nanny.

Will is caught up

Paperwork from work that piled because of a broken foot and the arrival of Ian is done.
Healing comes slowly.
Too slowly for the desired run.

Our Thank You Christmas Post

Christmas day at the Bower household was very relaxing and joyful. I never expected to enjoy a white Christmas in Portland, but this year was the year with a snow storm that shut down the entire valley for little over a week. It was not until Dec 27th that things were settling back to norm. And now that we are experiencing normal Portland weather - 40's and rain is kinda nice.
